Introducing the B1 and B1D MICROPHONE PRE AMPS from BURL AUDIO, designed to elevate your audio recording experience. These preamps, based on the API 500 series form factor, are tailored to complement the B2 BOMBER ADC and the B80 MOTHERSHIP, providing a multi-channel delight. Equipped with proprietary BX3 input transformers and BX2 output transformers, the B1 MIC PRE delivers a harmonious blend of warmth, depth, and clarity.
The B1D, identical to the B1 with one key distinction – it features an all-iron BX4 output transformer, delivering a powerful rock tone. These preamps boast an all-discrete transistor, class-A, direct-coupled, capacitor-free circuit path, delivering exceptional punch for drums, rich tonality for guitars, and warm presence for vocals.
Both the B1 and B1D come with Gain and Level controls, allowing for versatile tonal shaping. Crank up the stepped gain control for a heavy, gainy tone and adjust it with the level control. If you prefer a cleaner sound, reduce the gain and increase the level. For low impedance sources like ribbon mics, the B1 offers a transformer-coupled impedance select. It has been rigorously tested with popular microphones like the Royer R-121 in the low impedance setting, delivering outstanding results, particularly for guitar amps.
The B1 brings out the best in any microphone, whether it's dynamic, condenser, or ribbon. Its 1/4” instrument/line input on the front panel makes it easy to plug in and crank up the gain. The PAD switch accommodates hot signals and balanced line inputs through the mic XLR on the back panel. Add warmth and cohesiveness to your tracks or mixes by running them through the B1. This preamp is engineered for a rock-solid performance, making it ideal for rhythm tracks when used in multiples. Replace the need for EQ and compression with the analog PHAT sound. Connect your primary tracks to the B1 mic pre, follow it with a B2 Bomber ADC, and you're all set for a superior recording experience.
