Manley Labs introduces the Enhanced Pultec EQP-1A, a modern interpretation of the iconic Pultec Equalizer originally produced by Pulse Techniques, Inc. Since 1990, Manley has been crafting these EQs, incorporating their own enhancements while staying true to the classic Pultec design. This stereo unit offers additional frequencies not found in the original, a superior power supply, and renowned Manley line amps, making it a versatile and powerful tool for shaping sound.
All-Tube Make-Up Gain Block:
The Manley Enhanced Pultec EQP-1A incorporates a clean and simple all-tube make-up gain block to reamplify the signal after passing through the passive EQ circuit. The unit features a single rack unit monoblock design, occupying one-third of the space of the original Pultec units.
Continuous Variable Controls:
All BOOST and CUT controls are continuously variable conductive plastic potentiometers, ensuring silent operation and long life. The EQ may be set to 'flat' positions or completely bypassed.
Manley has added a couple of extra frequencies to the EQ, offering expanded versatility compared to the original Pultec.
Phase Invert and Input Options:
The rear-mounted input switch allows users to select 0 degrees or 180 degrees PHASE INVERT for the balanced gold pin XLR input. Alternatively, the transformerless unbalanced bridging input (1/4" jack) can be selected in the middle position of the switch.
Superior B+ Power Supply:
The Enhanced Pultec features a vastly superior B+ power supply with regulated and balanced heater supply. The line amp is known for its exceptional sound quality.
Transformer Coupled and Direct Capacitor Coupled Outputs:
The EQ offers both transformer-coupled balanced and direct capacitor-coupled unbalanced outputs, providing flexibility in signal routing and tonal options.
Tube Line Amplifier:
The unit utilizes 1 x 12AX7WA and 1 x 6414 (or 5965) in an all-tube single-ended line amplifier for gain make-up, delivering a powerful and beefy sound.
The gain is factory set for unity, but additional gain is available through a rear-mounted feedback adjustment trimpot.
Single and 2-Channel Versions:
The Manley Pultec EQP-1A is available in both single and 2-channel versions, catering to various studio setups and applications.
With its blend of classic Pultec design elements and modern enhancements, the Manley Enhanced Pultec EQP-1A stands as a versatile and effective equalization tool for both vintage and contemporary audio applications.

Operating mains voltage:
Units are purpose built for original destination country's mains voltage: 100V, 120V, or 220-240VAC as indicated on the serial number badge. Power transformer must be replaced in order to change mains operating voltage. 120VAC units may NOT be rewired to put the primaries of the power transformer in series for 220-240V operation or a large radiated field of hum will develop. If changing locations/voltages, the power transformer must be replaced with the dedicated one for the voltage at which it will operate.
Mains Voltage Frequency:
19" x 3 1/2" x 10" (occupies 2u)
