PELUSO P-414
In the 1970s, transistors replaced tubes, leading to the emergence of the AKG 414 as the successor to the AKG C 12. Peluso's journey through the extensive lineage of the 414 inspired them to capture the essence of this legendary classic, focusing on what enthusiasts loved the most.
Drawing inspiration from the 1976 EB version, particularly the original CK12-style brass capsule, Peluso aimed to replicate the detailed mid-range and shimmering high-end air that define AKG microphones. The brass dual-backplate edge-terminated 34mm capsule became the cornerstone, offering the versatility of four polar patterns. Modernizing the design with high-quality components ensures minimal self-noise, a crucial factor in contemporary microphones.
To achieve a balanced output, Peluso integrated a generously sized transformer, effectively eliminating interference and distortion. Durability was a key consideration in the design of the body and head grille, leading Peluso to construct them from heavy brass and steel. This robust construction makes the Peluso P-414 equally suitable for capturing the passion of a vocalist or the intensity of a heavy metal drum kit.
