SSL FUSION
SSL Fusion is a 2U stereo outboard processor designed for the modern hybrid studio. It introduces six new analogue coloration tools crafted to bring the perfect blend of tonal character, weight, and space to your mix bus or stereo stems. - New Analogue Colouration Tools:
- Fusion introduces six new analogue coloration tools designed to enhance tonal character, weight, and space in your mix. These tools provide a combination of added warmth and detail that only real analogue circuits can offer.
- Built on SSL Sonic Legacy:
- SSL's sonic legacy, built on a collection of much-emulated analogue audio processing tools, includes pristine mic preamps, classic Channel EQ & Dynamics, the legendary Stereo Bus Compressor, the Listen Mic Compressor, and the unique SSL summing bus.
- Hybrid Studio Compatibility:
- Expertly designed for today's hybrid studio setups, Fusion comes with workflow-enhancing features like +/-12dB Input and Output Trim controls, an Input overload LED, large peak-hold metering, a 3rd order High Pass Filter, and tri-color status indicators.
- Versatile Connectivity:
- Fusion features XLR connections that can be used as a Stereo Insert for mix bus processing or switched to function as a Mid-Side (MS) circuit. In Stereo Insert mode, the insert point can be switched to pre-Violet EQ, and in MS mode, it can be switched to pre-Stereo Image controls.
- Vintage Drive:
- Vintage Drive is a unique non-linear harmonic enhancement circuit offering harmonic saturation and soft compression. Drive and Density controls interact to produce varying degrees of thickening saturation or more extreme distortion.
- SSL Violet EQ:
- The SSL Violet EQ is a new minimum phase-shift, two-band shelving EQ. It is the first new SSL analogue EQ circuit in more than 25 years, providing musical and intuitive EQ with low-end weight and high-end sheen. It offers four switched frequency points and +/-9dB attenuation for both high and low frequency circuits.
- HF Compressor:
- A new High-Frequency Compressor provides a distinctive sound of high-frequency rounding in the analogue domain. It is optimized for smooth and transparent harshness reduction and a tape-like high-frequency roll-off.
- Full Band LMC (Listen Mic Compressor):
- Fusion includes a secret hidden 6th processor – a Full Band LMC mode. Activated by holding down the HF Compressor ‘in’ button for 5 seconds, it unlocks a full-band LMC mode with an X-Over control that becomes a wet/dry parallel mix control.
- Stereo Image Enhancer:
- A Stereo Image enhancer introduces a true analogue Mid-Side circuit for widening and spatial manipulation of the stereo field.
- SSL Transformer:
- Fusion incorporates a custom-designed SSL Transformer circuit that introduces subtle low-frequency saturation and high-frequency phase-shift, resulting in a thickening of the low-end and added sparkle to the high-end.
