Key Features
- SuperAnalogue™ Sound of SSL:
- SiX is designed as an SSL SuperAnalogue™, delivering the sonic signature of a large-format SSL console on a desktop or in a portable setup. Its fully balanced signal path ensures pristine, detailed audio with wide dynamic range, ultra-low noise, ultra-low distortion, and superb imaging.
- Two Recording Channels:
- SiX features two mono channels with SSL SuperAnalogue™ Mic Pre’s offering 66dB of gain, phantom power, 75Hz high-pass filter, and an independent line-level input switchable to instrument level input with high impedance.
- One-Knob Channel Compressor:
- A new one-knob compressor circuit based on the classic SSL feed-forward Channel Compressor provides program-dependent attack and fixed release time, simplifying the compression process and ensuring a consistent level.
- Two-Band SSL EQ:
- Both mono channels feature a new two-band SSL EQ that can be independently switched between shelf and bell curves. The SSL design legacy ensures response curves and center frequencies that are musically pleasing for a wide range of sources.
- 100mm Faders:
- SiX is equipped with 100mm faders, offering control over a usable gain range and making on-stage level adjustments easier compared to rotary or 60mm faders found on other compact mixers.
- Fully Balanced Insert Point:
- Each channel has a fully balanced insert point for integrating other signal processors after the EQ and Compressor circuits. The insert send is always active, allowing it to be used as a “dry” record send to a DAW if needed.
- Alternate Input Switch:
- The mono channels include an Alternate input switch for sourcing two extra mono channels from a connector on the rear of the console, usable at mixdown.
- Line Level Inputs:
- SiX has two stereo input channels with -10/+20 dB trim for line sources such as synthesizers, drum machines, or soundcard outputs. The channels automatically switch to mono if only the left input is connected.
- G Series Bus Compressor:
- The main mix bus incorporates the legendary G Series Bus Compressor with a fixed ratio, attack, and release settings, delivering the classic SSL glue and snap. Inserts on the main mix bus allow integration of external processing tools.
- Professional Routing & Monitoring:
- SiX features professional routing and monitoring features, including two Stereo Cue buses, main and alternate monitor outputs, mono check, dim, and cut. Fader channels have PFL and a Mute button that routes the muted signal to a ‘Bus B,’ which can be used as a DAW record send or routed to the monitor matrix.
- Talkback and Listen Mic Compressor:
- SiX includes a talkback mic input with phantom power and SSL’s unique Listen Mic Compressor, providing the classic 1980s slammed drums sound and serving as a unique processing tool.
